Gophers football players have been listening to Bret Michaels sing “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and other ballads with the band “Poison” during weight-room sessions since January.It became a thorn in their sides.Playing off P.J. The Glens Falls Jazz Band concert series starts this week, with melodies in City Park all through August.The city jazz band is set to play every Monday from July 31 to Aug. 21. MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ill. - The driver of a van is fortunate to be alive after being sandwiched between two tractor trailers in an accident on Interstate 55.According to Trooper Josh Robinson, Illinois State Police, the crash happened just after 8:45 p.m. Sunday near mile marker 59 in Montgomery County.The ISP crash report states a tractor-trailer was traveling north on the interstate when it slowed down due to being in a construction zone. VERNON, Ill. – A man is facing a possible reckless homicide charge in southern Illinois after striking and killing a pedestrian with his vehicle and crashing into a residence.According to a spokesperson for the Mt. Vernon Police Department, the crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, in the 600 block of Main Street. Dispatchers received calls of a rollover accident and were told the vehicle hit a pedestrian and home.Mt. FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. - Authorities are searching for two people accused of leaving behind two dogs to die in a Fairview Heights home. The Fairview Heights Police Department says Sean Flynn, 49, and Amber Strickland, 34, are wanted in the investigation. Overnight carjacking attempt in St. Louis foiled by disconnected battery Flynn and Strickland are believed to be the dogs' owners. St. Clair County prosecutors have issued felony charges to both for aggravated cruelty to animals and cruel treatment of animals. On May 11, a man arrived to his newly vacant rental property in the 900 block of Salem Place, but noticed a suspicious odor. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the discovery of a body inside a 55-gallon drum in Malibu Lagoon on Monday.A park worker first saw the barrel floating by the Pacific Coast Highway bridge Sunday night but didn’t think much of it at the time, a spokesperson for the L.A.
