AUSTIN (Nexstar) -- A new Texas law that allows the state to effectively deport undocumented migrants could test the balance of power between the states and the federal government, challenging years of legal precedent that has reserved the power to police the border to federal authorities.Senate Bill 4 authorizes state judges and police to order migrants back across the Rio Grande -- a deportation power reserved for federal agencies like Border Protection and ICE. SEATTLE - Former Missouri Tigers quarterback Drew Lock played hero on Monday Night Football, leading the Seattle Seahawks past the Philadelphia Eagles with a game-winning 92-yard touchdown drive in the final two minutes. ST. LOUIS - A new study ranked St. Louis among the Top 5 "loneliest cities in America" in reference to its rate of residents living alone.The findings come from ChamberOfCommerce.org. A research team recently compiled U.S. Census Data and analyzed more than 170 cities with a population of at least 150,000 people.According to the study, roughly 47.5% of St. Louis residents are living alone. It's the third-highest rate among qualifying U.S. cities, trailing only Birmingham, Alabama, and Washington, D.C. A burglar was caught on camera taking presents from under an Orange County family's Christmas tree Monday.The Huntington Beach residents, a couple that does not want to be identified, said they were at work when the intruder broke into their home on Nassau Lane through a sliding back door. Home security video shows the burglar wearing a red hoodie and light-colored pants going through the family's presents under the Christmas tree. A shooting on the 10 Freeway left a motorist in the hospital and prompted officials to close a portion of the freeway near the 710 Interchange in East Los Angeles Tuesday morning.A caller reported the shooting on the eastbound side of the freeway near Soto Street shortly before 5 a.m., a CHP spokesperson confirmed. One patient was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, the spokesperson said.A SigAlert was issued around 5:45 a.m. to close all eastbound lanes at Soto Street for police activity, the CHP stated on its traffic incident log. First of 2 storms brings rain to Southern California; flood watches issued Officials later opened two eastbound lanes but kept the rest closed for the investigation, according to the CHP.A white Toyota Camry believed to be involved in the incident was towed from the scene.
