Arena Football League returns to Colorado in 2024

For the first time since 2008, the Arena Football League is coming back to Colorado.The league, which is relaunching next year after shutting down in 2019, unveiled on Tuesday a list of 16 locations for teams via Twitter. More teams are set to be announced, the league later tweeted.Denver is reported to be home to the new Colorado team, according to a report from the Washington Post.This will be the first time the league will have a presence in the Centennial State since the Colorado Crush played at the then-Pepsi Center from 2003-08. Owned by Pat Bowlen, John Elway and Stan Kroenke, the team won ArenaBowl XIX in 2005, beating the Georgia Force, 51-48, for the league title.Colorado was also home to the Denver Dynamite, which played in 1987 and 1989-91. A driver in a work truck led Los Angeles police officers on a bizarre low-speed chase Wednesday morning in the San Fernando Valley until finally being taken into custody.The chase began around 7:20 a.m. with a reported hit-and-run in the area of DeSoto Avenue and Lassen Street, according to Los Angeles Police. Officers spotted the vehicle and determined that it had been stolen. The LAPD pursued a pickup truck in the San Fernando Valley on July 19, 2023. OAKLAND — A bicyclist killed July 12 when he was hit by a stolen car in the Fruitvale district was identified by police Wednesday as Ricky Bryant, 62, of Oakland.The driver of the stolen car fled the scene and is still being sought, police said.The fatal collision happened about 9:30 a.m. July 12 at the intersection of 29th Avenue and International Boulevard.Police said a Hyundai Elantra, which was stolen earlier in Fremont, was going eastbound on International Boulevard when it collided with a van going in the same direction. The van driver was not hurt.The impact caused the Hyundai to spin out and strike Bryant at the intersection of 29th Avenue and International Boulevard, police said.Bryant, who had a West Oakland address and who was riding westbound on International, was ejected from his bicycle onto the pavement.
