(NEWS10) -- St. Clare's pensioners were the topic of conversation in a meeting between members of assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara's Office and staff from the Congressional Committee on Education and Workforce this week. The meeting covered potential solutions to the ongoing St. Clare's pension crisis which left over 1,100 former St. Clare's Hospital employees with their pension payments cut off in 2018. ST. LOUIS - HAZMAT crews are at the scene of a crash Wednesday morning. The crash happened on Route 367 and I-270 a little after 8:00 a.m., where a semi-truck carrying unknown supplies can be seen completely destroyed. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies converged during rush hour Wednesday near Bowles and Chase after a police shooting and chase with a “suspect at large.”A deputy fired at a tan Lincoln Navigator that had rammed patrol vehicles before the driver fled.No injuries were reported. OAKLAND — A 43-year-old woman was shot Tuesday night at a West Oakland homeless camp, authorities said.The woman was in stable condition at a hospital recovering from a wound to her leg.The shooting was reported about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the camp in the 1900 block of Campbell Street. After one of California’s stormiest winters in recent memory downed power lines and trees, Santa Clara County is updating its plan to keep damage from storms and other natural disasters to a minimum.The county’s Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, which expired in 2022, helps access federal funding for projects like earthquake retrofitting and vegetation management to control the spread of wildfires. The collaborative effort across several cities and organizations also helps to identify safety risks in a region and set a game plan of how to minimize or manage those risks.
