(The Hill) -- More than 1,000 scheduled flights have been canceled in the U.S. over the weekend as Tropical Storm Hilary has hit the western part of the country. The Angel of Hope memorial in Woodbury won’t be formally dedicated until later this month, but grieving families have already been stopping by the site near Woodbury City Hall to remember and honor their children.“We feel the peace of the children and cherish the majesty of the angel within the garden, surrounded by our children,” said Julie Rageth, who helped lead the effort for the new memorial. Rageth’s daughter, Natalie Ann Valitchka, died at age 32 in 2020. “We have met parents and families at the memorial, as we are with our children who are loved, remembered and missed. We say their names and share their stories with honor.”The memorial, which includes signs for plaques with names and information about children who have died, will be dedicated during a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Spirit Song Choir will perform at the dedication. The names of 62 children have been installed on the remembrance plaque, Rageth said.“To see the angel fully completed is breathtaking...98.3 TRY Social Dilemma: Is it okay to wear a sports bra while mowing the lawn?

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Today's TRY Social dilemma came from Howard. It's about how you mow the lawn. Here's his email: Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. I'm having an issue in my neighborhood and I'm hoping you'll use this as a dilemma because I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I live in a very nice neighborhood. Most of the people here are great. But there is a couple that lives two houses down. They're middle aged, and very nice, but I'm not thrilled with something that the wife does. First off, she's the one who mows the lawn, not her husband. I don't understand why, but that's okay. But she mows the lawn in what looks like a bathing suit top, or a sports bra. I think that is so wrong. There are kids in this neighborhood. What if they see her dressed that way. If you're going to mow the lawn, cover-up. Put on a T-shirt at least. Don't you agree? Thanks for your help Jaime. Have a good day.HowardWow, is...GasBuddy: Average Albany prices fall .9 cents in last week

Dear Amy: My husband has gone skiing with seven of his male peers for 17 years. One of these friends, “Patrick,” is an alcoholic whose out-of-control behavior during previous ski trips has been difficult for them to tolerate.Last year, Patrick was so offensive and unruly during a ski trip that it was the last straw, so the guys will not be inviting him to join them again. My husband has blocked him on his phone.Although all agreed that this shunning was justified, the loss of this friend caused my husband great emotional pain.I am from a family who has suffered from generations of alcoholism. I have a low tolerance for the pain caused by that sad addiction. As a result, the shunning is not a problem for me.However, I am friends with Patrick’s wife, who knows he has been banned from the ski group for his frightening behaviors. She is choosing to continue to support him and his painful, risky lifestyle, trusting that he will recover.Although none of us share her trust in him, she is askin...European Statistical Recovery Dashboard: August edition

Making today’s contract looks as impossible as kissing your elbow. South is off the A-K of trumps and a spade, and when West leads the queen of clubs, the defense is on the way to winning a club trick before South can draw trumps and pitch a club from dummy on a high spade.Would you then back the defense? (By now, you may have tried unsuccessfully to kiss your elbow.)The actual South battled on. He took the king of clubs and led a spade to his queen. West won and led another club to dummy. South then came to his ace of spades and led the jack. If West ruffed with the ace of trumps, dummy would pitch a club. So West ruffed low, and dummy overruffed.FIFTH SPADESouth next led a diamond to his ace, ruffed a spade, ruffed a diamond and led the good fifth spade. Again, West couldn’t gain by ruffing. He discarded, dummy threw the last club and East ruffed.South ruffed the diamond return and led a trump. When the A-K clashed, South was home. Easier than kissing your elbow.DAILY ...Horoscopes Aug. 21, 2023: Kim Cattrall, don’t be fooled by appearances
