(KDVR) — A destructive wood-boring beetle was detected for the first time in a small area in northeast Littleton.Arapahoe County confirmed its first case of the emerald ash borer, an invasive insect that infests and kills ash trees. (KDVR) — A pipe bomb was found outside a home that's been the site of repeat explosions and admitted bomb-making activity, according to the Englewood Police Department.Officers were dispatched around 1:40 p.m. Monday to the home at 4945 S. Delaware St. A resident of the home found what looked like a pipe bomb outside near an air conditioning unit, Englewood Police said in a release. Meanwhile, police are sending out a warning about the dangers of lighting illegal fireworks. Firefighters responded in Chelsea Monday after a fire broke out on a porch, officials said. The incident happened in a building off Garfield Avenue. Video later showed plumes of smoke filling the sky as flames spread along the porch. Officials said fire investigators were looking into fireworks as a possible cause Monday night after neighbors told firefighters there had been people setting off fireworks across the street.
