AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Welcome light to moderate rain showers continue across much of the area this evening with some rain totals adding up to 0.10"-0.25". Light rain showers taper off a bit after sunset tonight with cloudy, mainly dry weather overnight.A strong Pacific storm passing to our north will drag a cold front through our area late in the day tomorrow. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — With the NCAA wrapping up in New York, businesses in the Capital Region are looking back on their earnings. Albany County Executive, Daniel P. McCoy, announced that the expected revenue from the event was projected to be $3.5 million, and ended up reaching $6.7 million. "The NCAA host 8 first and second round locations. Albany was the smallest of those eight locations. We were a sold out show for all three sessions of the tournament," shared Discover Albany Sports commissioner Jay Cloutier. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Thursday, Jimmie Lee Allen, 60, of Albany, was convicted of murder. According to the indictment, Allen intentionally caused the death of Rodney McLean on August 12. SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An abundance of local schools received fake active shooter reports on March 30. Schenectady police report that on March 30, around 11 a.m., officers assigned to Schenectady High School were alerted by staff that a student's family member was on campus and threated to "shoot up the school." Police explain the male left campus and was located a short time later. The individual was identified as Zackery McWilliams, 24 of Schenectady. LOUIS - A Hazelwood, Missouri, man appeared in federal court on Tuesday and admitted to a series of fraudulent schemes to acquire numerous vehicles, and working with others to do the same.Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said Naquan Powers, 27, admitted to buying three cars from a Florissant dealership between June 24, 2019, and Aug. 23, 2019, and used fake Social Security cards and driver's licenses to apply for loans.Powers purchased a Chevy Impala with an $18,098 loan, a Chevy Tahoe with a $42,086 loan, and a BMW 428 XI with a loan in the amount of $29,079.
